The project of Alexandra Park is designed as an urban village surrounding a vibrant central area, High Street and racecourse. It is aimed at bringing residential experiences like nowhere else in Auckland – combining on-trend retailers, innovative businesses and stylish leisure activities, it will have broad appeal for residents, especially for those that want the very best.

This prestigious project offered the opportunity to design a bespoke architectural façade that complements the dynamic series of building designs. The buildings are thoughtfully positioned to maximise air, sun and views and the bespoke façades developed this vision – enabling residents indoor-outdoor living experiences, inside their apartments and in the wider village below.
The stylish design of these apartments required a versatile and attractive privacy screen for all of the apartment balconies. The architectural intent was for a set of screens that could not only slide but also bi-fold, and when closed appear to have a slightly ‘wavy, concertina’ effect.
During the tender process our experienced team of innovators developed a smart way to achieve the architectural intent for the bi-folding screens. We priced it as an alternative and submitted our tender accordingly.
The alternative design not only provided cost savings, it also promised superior performance under demanding wind conditions and guaranteed to meet the architectural intent - both areas that previous designs found challenging.
